She didn’t cry when I dug through the earth in the backyard like a madman and buried her damned glitter bottles by the withered tomato plant.

At night, the plant shimmered. Multi-colored, shining tendrils arose from its roots, blanketing the grass.

Her eyes twinkled with a victorious smile.
